Milestone launch Season 7 of Virgin Atlantic online golf league
Since it’s launch in 2005, Virgin Atlantic’s innovative frequent flyer golf scheme has been regarded as one of the most unique golf competitions in the world and with the launch of it’s seventh season this month, it promises to get even bigger and better.
The online golf league, affectionately known as Flying Club Swingers, invites Flying Club members to test their golfing skills against like minded golfers all over the world in an online golf league. Flying Club members from the UK, US, Caribbean, South Africa, India, Dubai, China, Japan and Australia are all taking part in this extraordinary event this season.
Scores from club rounds, casual rounds with friends, society days and match plays against other Swingers can all be entered with the ultimate aim of climbing the leaderboards and qualifying for either the European or Rest of the World team in an end of season ‘Ryder Cup’ style final. The four day final offers qualifiers the ‘money can’t buy’ experience of an exciting team competition - whether it’s holding the winning putt for your team, or taking three out of the bunker to cost your team a vital point!
Flying Club Swingers is not just about the Final, far from it. Swingers is a community where members can search for other members on a unique world map and contact them to arrange a game - perfect for those travelling overseas and looking to get a round in, or for extending your local network of golfing friends.
In addition this season, Swingers can submit their own course reviews, have the opportunity to chat about golf online and send in video of clips of their swings to get free online tips from our resident pro. What’s more, there are competitions and offers galore; whether it’s for submitting funny photos and videos or earning bonus points through recommending friends or playing in Virgin Atlantic destinations. Great prizes are on offer from both Virgin Atlantic and their partners ranging from Ryder Cup tickets, flights to Virgin Atlantic destinations , Marriott hotel vouchers, Stewart Golf stand bags and Virgin Vouchers.
And if that’s not enough to entice a golfer, there are also 200 goody bags to give away for the first valid scores of the season containing gifts from the likes of Callaway, Glenmuir, Golfbidder, Brandfusion and Volvo.
