the longest 18 holes

NEWS UPDATE

We did it! ..... We are delighted to inform you that we completed our Longest 18 Holes Challenge on Monday 22 June in 17 hours and 45 minutes.  Starting at 4.30am at The London Club in Kent we played 2 holes at 9 courses across 8 counties, travelling nearly 500 miles, with the final putt holed at 10.15pm in near darkeness at England's most westerly course at Cape Cornwall.  To date we have raised well over £5,000 for our two charities so many thanks for all your support so far.

On Monday 22 June 2009, Luke Parry and Paul Rockett of Milestone and Graham Russell and Steve Saunders of Alno, will attempt to play 18 holes of golf in one day stretching from Kent to the most western tip of Cornwall, in aid of two charities close to our hearts – CHASE Hospice Care for Children and Friends of PICU (the registered charity for Southampton Paediatric Intensive Care Unit).

Our route will take us through 8 counties, travelling in excess of 400 miles and will last over 17 hours!

We will attempt to play 2 holes at each of the following venues and would like to pay special thanks to the venues who have generously agreed to help us in our challenge:

A big thank you also to Volvo (www.volvocars.com) for supplying us with a top of the range XC-90 for our challenge, Callaway Golf (www.callawaygolf.com) for providing us with a (large!) supply of golf balls and Level 4 Golf and PD Supplies for providing shirts and golf tees.
