Latest update: 11 May 2020
Last night we watched the PM’s statement on the road map to relaxing lockdown measures, eager to find out what this meant for golf.
Although we are aware that golf courses in England can, from Wednesday, be open for play (for singles or two balls with a member of the same household or with one other person from outside your household, while keeping two metres apart at all times), golf clubs will currently remain closed in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
We welcome the clear and concise statements from the R&A and England Golf as to the amended rules and regulations regarding playing golf within social distancing measures. As a result, Linksbook will follow these regulations in its inaugural season to ensure everyone can compete whilst strictly adhering to the guidance laid out by the golfing authorities.
This will inevitably lead to a more ‘relaxed’ first season than we had originally planned as we encourage everyone to enter as many scores as possible, enabling them to have a fun but competitive experience with Linksbook.
Although Linksbook will launch imminently, we would like to monitor the situation with a return to golf in England over the next 7-10 days. Over the coming days we have some exciting announcements to make on some new partnerships. We will also start to outline some of the key rules of Linksbook, the competitions we will be running over the coming months, and then of course our launch date.
Thank you for your continued patience and we look forward to seeing you with Linksbook very soon.
