Our Top 5 Driving Ranges

If you’re looking to sharpen your short games skills or hone your swing over the winter months, here’s our take on some of the best driving ranges and practice facilities we have visited.

1) World of Golf, New Malden, Surrey

One of Europe's most popular driving ranges, featuring two tiers and 60 bays - 30 of which are heated. This floodlit range provides powered tee mats, delivering each ball to the tee automatically. Open until midnight, there is also a teaching academy with video coaching studios.

2) Trafford Golf Centre, Manchester The Trafford Golf Centre is the premier driving range in Manchester, with 57 covered bays. The 32 bays on the upper tier are also heated and the range has floodlights, two fairways, and nine target greens. There is a practice green and bunker on site as well and there are four bays with video analysis equipment for lessons.

3) Playgolf Harrow, London

The two-tier, heated, 56-bay premier driving range at Playgolf London is a spectacular piece of urban architecture. It enables golfers to practise all shots – from short wedges to booming drives – by providing clear, accurate and attractive targets. It’s floodlit and open late every night of the week.

4) Great Western Golf, Glasgow

One of Scotland’s most popular driving ranges, Great Western Golf in Glasgow offers 72 all weather heated bays overlooking their floodlit course. The range features 72 heated bays, Power Tee mat and a teaching academy with Trackman coaching studios.

5) Urban Golf London

For a slightly different golfing experience, why not get down to one of the Urban Golf centres in London? With centres in Soho and Smithfield players hit balls at a simulator which maps the ball's trajectory on the projector in front of you. Perfect for a rainy day.
