Glennon in the mix with Denham victory

Our penultimate society day of Season 14 proved a memorable day for several Swingers as they gave themselves a real chance of qualifying for our Streamsong Final, not just through our Society day aggregate competition but on the leaderboards itself. In tricky conditions, with a strong breeze and challenging but very good greens, scoring was tough and only 4 points separated the top 4. It made for an exciting day at one of Buckinghamshire's best courses where the quality of the course was matched by the catering and service in the beautiful clubhouse. In our Nearest the Pin competition, well done to Rebecca Gray and Alan Horn who each won a Level 4 suit carrier, whilst we were delighted for our Ladies' Longest Drive winner Margaret Clifford who won a Stewart Golf umbrella after a great drive at the 13th hole. Equally impressive was Glyn Andrew's drive winning him a Stewart Golf towel. In the main competition, sixth place went to Alan Horn, who had travelled all the way down from Scotland to be with us. Alan, with 33pts on the day, won a Trendy Golf Cap and Dirty Dog sunglasses. Fifth place went to Glyn Andrews with 34pts winning him a Trendy Golf shirt and Dirty Dog sunglasses. Fourth place went to Andrew Gray with 35pts, and Andrew took home a Trendy Golf sweater and Dirty Dog sunglasses. Ken Daly, again flying down from Scotland to be with us, came in third with 35pts beating Andrew on a countback, to continue his great run of form . Ken won a Cleveland wedge and some Dirty Dog sunglasses. The runner pp prize went to Luke Eustace from Yorkshire, who followed up his win at our Wallasey day with another strong performance finishing with 35pts, also beating Ken on a countback. Luke won a Stewart R1 push trolley, some Srixon AD333 tour golf balls and Dirty Dog sunglasses. But it was Club Swinger Steve Glennon, who after several attempts, won his first ever Swingers day with a superb 36pts to win a SkyCaddie GPS watch, Srixon bag and Dirty Dog sunglasses. Steve is having a great season, not only winning this day but also now putting himself in the hunt for a final spot, as well as making it to our Northern Match Play Cup final. Well done Steve and good luck for the last few days of the season!
