IQ Medical crowned champions at Benton Hall
The 4th annual Provide Charity Golf Day took place at Benton Hall Golf Club in Essex on Friday 29th September. Despite a couple of close misses (including a superb shot to three feet from Kevin Holland), sadly nobody scooped the amazing hole in one prize of a £20,000 Mini Cooper convertible on the tough par 3 13th hole. However, Kirk Jarrett won Nearest the Pin with a great shot on the short 6th, and the Nearest the Pin in 2 shots competition winner on the 12th went to Nick Read. The Longest Drive competitions on the 18th hole were won by Dan O'Shea and Susan Bunn, with Ian Saville claiming the Straightest Drive on the Par 4 9th hole. In the Individual Stableford event scoring was of a very high standard, with Neil Matthews claiming 3rd prize after just missing out on count back to Darren Winder who also scored 39 points to take runners-up spot. However, the stand out winner was Wayne Ayton with a superb score of 41 points playing off a handicap of 13. Our 'most golf' winner on the day was Rob Bleasdale - thanks for being such a good sport Rob! In the team event, again the scoring was exceptional, with many teams achieving 80 plus points. Third place went to the Provide Piggies team of Philip Richards, Charlie Clarricoates, Neil Matthews and Stewart McDonald, with a score of 89 points. Runners-up were Will Dunn, Paul Dunn, Kevin Holland and Ashley Dixon of M&P Dunn but the overall winners on the day were the IQ Medical team of Ann Goodman, Steve Leah, Lewis Simpson and Howard Smith, who finished on a great score of 91 points. After golf, players enjoyed a superb meal in the clubhouse followed by a silent auction and prize raffle. Thanks to all the sponsors and for all your support in raising over £3,000 for some amazing charities. Congratulations once again to all the prize winners and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
