Former ROW Captain set for Vegas final

On a beautiful day for golf, our South African Swingers and invited Virgin Atlantic guests converged on The Els Club at Copperleaf near Johannesburg for our very first society day in South Africa. It's been a long time in the planning and it was fantastic to finally bring a Swingers day to our loyal Swingers in this part of the world. On what proved a testing course despite the perfect conditions, scoring was difficult with only one player below net par. Our nearest the pin and nearest the pin in two winners were Virgin Atlantic guest Dayalan Govender and multi-Swingers finalist and former captain Steve du Preez. The Team Stableford was a close run affair with three teams separated by just one point. The winning team was Marco Ciocchetti, Rory da Silva, Paul da Silva and Bradley Hall with 83 points. In the all important individual competition, our Virgin Atlantic guests dominated with third place going to Morne du Preez with 34 points, second place going to Marco Ciocchetti with 35 points and top spot going to Ricky da Silva with a great score of 37 points. Each prize winner won prizes from the likes of Srixon, Cleveland Golf, Stewart Golf, Trendy Golf and Dirty Dog. The big prize of the day however was qualification for the Season 15 Final in Las Vegas this November. Congratulations to last year's ROW captain Clinton Heap who earns this honour and joins Brian O'Connor, winner of our US day, in Team ROW to take on Team Europe. Our first Team Europe finalist will be confirmed this coming Monday at our final society day of S15 at Enville in West Midlands, UK. Thanks again to everyone who went out of their way to support us yesterday including local Swingers Simon Hudson and Steve du Preez who helped drive our first day, and also the likes of Janus Horn, Clinton Heap and Duncan Castles who took flights to support the day, and of course our incredibly loyal UK Swingers Margaret and Alan Clifford, and Terry Woods and Carol Brown who booked trips to South Africa to join us. Your amazing support is never taken for granted. Thanks also to all our sponsors who helped provide gifts and prizes for the days, and of course Darrin and his team in the South Africa Virgin Atlantic office who brought their guests along to celebrate our first day in South Africa. We hope very much to return in Season 16.
