Luton Hoo plays host to Euronics
Over 80 suppliers and members gathered together at the historic Luton Hoo in Bedfordshire on 27 September to enjoy a day of golf, tuition or a relaxing visit to the Spa. Despite a heavy shower or two during the middle of the day, the weather stayed mostly kind as the golf tuition sessions got underway and the more regular golfers battled it out for some great prizes, including a chance to win a Peugeot e-Partner van worth £30k for a hole in one on the par 3 15th. In tricky, blustery conditions, scoring on the day was excellent with the top 15 players all scoring 36 points or more. In the end we had one clear winner in the Individual Stableford (Members) competition - Peter Jones (E Jones & Sons) who finished on 40 points to win the Scogings Family Trophy. Peter also gets to donate the 'Mulligans' charity pot of £580 to a charity of his choice an he has chosen St Kentigern Hospice in North Wales. Runners-up spot went to Markus Wood (Avensys) who just pipped Paul Skinner (RNW) on count back after they both finished on 38 points. In the team event we had some great scores with the winning team of Mark Hopkins (Haier), Lee Collett (Haier), Mark Greig (Marks Electrical) and Paul Skinner (RNW) claiming first prize with 89 points. Runners up spot went to the team of Stephen Rickersley (Miele), Matt Bugler (Miele), David Stanbridge (R Barker Tarring) and their 'ghost' player, Eric Walke (Michael R Peters) with 88 points.
Other winners on the day were Alex Brewin of The CDA Group (Longest Drive) and James Thompson of Mostly Media (Longest Drive).
In the tuition clinic we also had prizes for Teresa Arbuckle (Beko) and Morgan Evans (Evans Appliances) who impressed the club professionals with their skills and improvement throughout the day.
