We are back!

Our 2021 Linksnet Network Day season finally kicked off in York, as our members took to the beautiful fairways at Fulford Golf Club.

Finally after many long months, we got back to doing what we do best and it was a great lift to see everyone’s friendly faces again and meet some of our new members as we all got to spend some time together on the golf course.

Fulford, famous for hosting the Benson and Hedges European Tour event in the 1980's and of course that Bernard Langer 'tree' shot, was in fantastic condition given the awful weather we’ve endured these last few weeks. Sure enough more rain greeted us in the morning, but after our members received their goody bags and breakfast, the weather gradually began to improve and we witnessed some very impressive golf out on the course.

Longest Drive on the 6th hole went to Waterton Park’s Glyn Andrews whilst the Nearest the Pin prize on the 14th went to Haydock Park’s Rebecca Gray. Both won a pair of Dirty Dog sunglasses and a Titleist cap.

The Team Stableford competition was won by the threeball of James Gear, John Newell and David Cartledge who took the spoils with a superb 92 points.

In the Individual competition, our Best on Par 4s prize went to Burnham Beeches’ John Newell scoring an impressive 24 points, winning a pair of Dirty Dog sunglasses. In the main competition third place went to Glyn Andrews with 38 points on a countback. Glyn won a pair of Skechers shoes. The runner-up prize went to Stone Golf Club member James Gear who scored a superb 39 points to win a pair of Skechers shoes and Dirty Dog sunglasses, but he was pipped to first place by brother in law and Royal St David’s member Andrew Gray who recovered from a 9 on the first to score a fantastic 40 points and win a Stewart Golf R1-S Push trolley. Andrew also now leads our aggregate leaderboard which awards a space at our end of season Final at Prince's to the player with the best 3 scores from any of the 10 Network Days.

To see everyone smiling and having fun out on the course was fantastic to see and it fills us with excitement for the remaining days this summer.

A big thank you to the team at Fulford for their superb hospitality and of course to our incredible partners for providing a fantastic prize table and goody bag for all players.

If you would like to join us at any of our remaining 9 days, please check out the Linksnet Network Days page here.
